The  Baton Rouge Herb Society is a unit of The Herb Society of America and is the source for information and education on growing, propogating and using herbs in Baton Rouge.

Each month we hold a meeting focused on a particular herb or use of herbs.  The general public is always welcome . Meetings are free to Society members.  There is a $3 charge for non-members and includes a plant and handouts. 

Unless otherwise noted, meetings are held at the Baton Rouge Garden Center located at 7950 Independence Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA, behind the main branch of the EBR Library. All meetings start at 7:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of the month from January through May and September and October.

ROSE - HERB OF THE YEAR 2012  
Dr. Allen Owings, Professor Horticulture, will present information on ROSES and their uses. There will be a tasting of Harissa Cake with Rose Syrup (see recipe section of this website for more information) 

   **NOTE: We are MOVING to Burden Research Center in the Conference Center on Essen at I-10.  As you come into the main drive, the Ione Burden Conference Center is where you have to turn left or run into the building.

New Shipment of Pomegranate Trees on Sale NOW!

Don't miss the opportunity to snap up one or more of these lovely, Louisiana propagated and grown trees.  We only have a limited supply of 100 trees so place your order as soon as possible.

The trees range from 3 to 4 feet tall not including the pot.  They can grow in full sun to part shade and can be propagated from seed.

The trees are $25 for HSA members and $35 for non-members.  The trees will be available for pick up at before each of our meetings at the Baton Rouge Garden Center between 6 and 6:30 pm unless other arrangements are made in advance.  To order your trees please fill out the form below.

The trees must be picked up at the Baton Rouge Garden Center 7950 Independence Blvd., Baton Rouge LA at our next meeting between 6 and 6:30 pm unless other arrangements are made in advance.  Any trees not picked up and paid for at this time will be subject to resale.
